Its the final day of this weeks fabulous series of short blogs, providing free tools and techniques to support you in improving your wellbeing. …so let me introduce you to;

NLP Visualisation is a simple and effective technique which involves future pacing the  successful outcome of a goal you wish to achieve.

This requires you to picture yourself through your own eyes ‘as if’ you have already achieved your goal. The mind believes the information that you present to it and so through regular practice, your mind will begin to organise itself toward achieving this goal.

Visualising your successful outcome programmes the unconscious mind to start paying attention to what you want to achieve and to bring in to your consciousness things that might help you achieve your goal, to see solutions and to feel more motivated.

Practicing this technique will enable you to shift from an unresourceful state and problem focused thinking to a more resourceful, solution focused state emotionally or for a specific situation.

Successful people all over the world and from all walks of life use this technique to create momentum toward their goal. So, whether you wish to achieve a new level of career or business success or improve your personal wellbeing I encourage you to incorporate this into your tool box.

The Technique

There are many different approaches to Visualisation and as you become aware of what works best for you, you can adapt your own style. I use a combined approach which I personally feel enables me to achieve the best experience.

Find yourself a quiet room where you will not be disturbed for approximately 20 minutes and grab a pen and paper.

  1. The Goal; Decide on the goal or situation for which you will visualise a successful outcome and write it down.
  2. The Affirmation; Write an affirmation which represents your successful outcome as if you have it now.

E.g. ‘I am Confidently presenting my topic with Passion and  Enthusiasm’ /

‘I am happy and relaxed as I drive into town’.

  1. The Meditative State; Begin by creating a Meditative state, just like you did using the Meditation Blog ( )

4. The Visualisation; Close your eyes and take yourself to the successful outcome you want to achieve. Looking through your own eyes see what you see, hear what you hear and really feel how this feels. Experience this visualisation of your successful outcome in as vivid detail as you can. Notice any learnings and bring them back with you.

‘Visualize this thing that you want, see it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blue print, and begin to build’.– Robert Collier
